I was a gruelling 12 hour days sanding floors and tearing down wallpaper with one child strapped on my back while the other babies were crawling in the playpen. Ha! The home was beginning to look good, but there were a few things that needed to be left. To complete this task, I was prepared to shell out a substantial amount of money and spend time searching for the perfect home. My sons, my husband and I looked for treasures hidden going to estate sales in order to help reduce my expenses. We used to go on a weekly basis to visit auctions and garage sales on Saturday and Sunday and purchase a range of old pieces and new constructed. It was my job to spend the day in the driveway working on painting or sanding. The furniture was like this... and that's where I found my love to restore. No matter what, our house had already been decorated. I had an area at the market to sell items. I could outgrow the area because I had many more pieces than I was able to use. My home was where I started hosting open houses where more than 1000 people could come in and buy any item they liked on the 1st floor in just one weekend. Growing Days was created in the home. Apart from my successful business, I also had the pleasure of growing our family. As a mom of a child I was able to strike the right equilibrium to start my own business as well as being a decent mother. Growing Days fit perfectly. My daughter Nora became our fourth child. My business's direction was fantastic, but I needed to take some time off. I decided to quit doing work on my furniture for a few months and spend time with my children. That was exactly what i wanted. It rang once more after several minutes. Calls came in asking me to help them with the interior design and renovations of their home. These were mostly customers who visited my house for furniture. After that, I gradually took on new clients according to my own pace. Then I was able to have many customers and was operating an enterprise of renovations to homes. When you first spoke to me about my home renovation business I laughed. In fact, I laugh slightly when I recall the story.
